Certified Nurse Practioner
Heath Houtchens takes pride in optimizing his patients’ health and wellbeing as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He is an Arkansas native, born and raised near Gravette in the northwest corner of the state. His desire to serve others and pursue a career in the medical field sparked during his time in Health Occupation Students of America, in which he competed nationally in medical math and spelling. It was in witnessing his own family battle with illness that he became interested in better understanding disease process.
After completing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Harding University, Heath worked as a Registered Nurse in the inpatient setting. He covered for staffing shortages in multiple specialty areas including post-surgical, cardiac step down, ER, ICU, medical-surgical, and rehabilitation. During this time Heath felt driven to work alongside patients to improve their health and prevent hospital admission. He then returned to Harding University to pursue a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner, embracing greater responsibility and autonomy in practice.
Joining the Natural State Integrative Medicine team in 2019, Heath empowers patients to take control of their health with regenerative medicine. Heath, his wife, and daughter are proud to call central Arkansas home. Outside of the clinic, you can find him enjoying the outdoors, hiking, running, cooking, and spending time with his family.
